bits I’m working on (and stuff already out)

An art sample from FROGGY WENT A-COURTIN'

I’m still outlining and prepping the story. I won’t start writing until later this month, but in the meantime I’ve been doing sketches of the main characters. I like to sketch both before and during the writing. Usually I’ll do key characters before I start so that I can have a visual idea of who the main cast is. Personality traits and quirks also develop during this process. Later, as key scenes and side characters pop up during the writing, I’ll sketch them out, not necessarily for myself, but for the reader to have a visual idea of what I’m seeing in my head as I write the book.

Here are four characters that are central to this story…

In terms of tone, I’m going for a “Disney’s Robin Hood meets The Princess Bride” sort of feel.

I’m excited about it, and can’t wait to start writing!
