work on BILLY RICHMOND AND THE SOMETIMES SCARY FANTASY ADVENTURE has begun!
The outline is complete and I am in love with it. Work begins next week, Lord willing.
The story features Billy and his friends Ronnie, Freddie, and Janie discovering an ancient book in Grandpa Don’s Antique Shop. The book is cursed and, upon opening it, horrible consequences follow, taking the kids on a whirlwind journey searching for the handful of missing pages that, when restored to the book, can undo the curse they unwittingly released.
That’s only half the story, however.
The other half concerns the adventures of Grandpa Don, when he was a young adventuring kid (around Billy’s age). He and his friends were the ones who first found the book and ended up being hunted by monsters desperate to get it back.
The story flips back and forth between the present and the past, entwining the story all the way to the exciting conclusion.
This one has thrills, adventure, and more than a few (age appropriate) scares. I can’t wait to write it and I can’t wait to read it to my Joshua at bedtime.
I plan on the first draft being done around the start of Summer. I’ll have cover and artwork to share soon, Lord willing, as well as a sample chapter in the next week or so.
